Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie – New Trailer

After many last episodes ever and this is the end of the characters, an official trailer has finally been released for the new Absolutely Fabulous movie from Fox Searchlight pictures.

Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley reprise their roles as the iconic Eddy and Patsy and are joined by original cast members, Julia Sawalha as Saffy, Jane Horrocks as Bubble and June Whitfield as Edina’s Mother. Jennifer Saunders has stated in an interview with BBC magazine; “This will be the proper send off that Ab Fab needs. More or less.”

Seems like not much has changed since we last left our tipsy fashionistas, and this time they find themselves mixed up in a fashion faux pa by knocking super model Kate Moss off a balcony and into the Thames. They do the only logical thing and escape to the south of France to hide out.

I am a firm believer in that you can never go back, but I must admit other than everyone looking a little older it seems that old magic that made Ab Fab so hysterical… might be back.

I was a big fan of the series back in the day when it made its way to the US, so I am actually looking forward to this one coming out. I can only hope it stays true to form as the original series was. The only thing I see missing from the trailer is that damn catchy theme song.

For those not in the know, Absolutely Fabulous (or Ab Fab to its fans) was a BBC television sitcom which first three series aired in the UK between 1992-95. The series centers around Edina (Eddy) Monsoon a heavy drinking PR agent always in search of the next off beat fad and her best friend and confidant Patsy Stone a fashion magazine editor whose drinking, drugs and promiscuous sex rivals that of Eddys.

A release date has been set for this July 22nd sweetie darling.  So meet me with some bubbly and I’ll see you in the back row.
