The (allegedly) Final Installment in the absurdly long running ‘Resident Evil’ movie series comes to theaters this week. ModCon takes this as his cue to argue the merits of another in an increasingly long list of Lost Causes… First off, I’m talking about the FIRST of the 33 or so ‘Resident Evil’ movies made so […]

Marvel deserves a lot of Credit for Bringing Monsters Back to Comics I had to write this article. I wasn’t going to, but it’s Halloween today and I owe it to you. First of all, comic books and horror stories go together like peanut butter and jelly, death and taxes, sex and headaches… Well, strike […]

The movie starts in a fog-filled graveyard at night with some ominous music. A caretaker sees someone with their back turned standing in the distance, he cautiously approaches and taps the person on the shoulder. With a loud scream, the person turns to reveal a hideous zombie face zooming into the camera and the title Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things appears on the screen.

Matt Smith was worried about finding work when he quit Doctor Who – but, apparently, he needn’t have been. There’s no doubt about it – Matt Smith was one of the finest Doctors in the TV show’s 50-year history.     His decision to leave the series after just three years in the role was, […]

I was roaming the internet, looking for movies to watch or upcoming films I needed to be aware of, and like any good young millennial my favorite genre is horror. The blood and gutsier the better! I’ve said it before, my friend and I created the BEST themed night ever, called zombie-sushi-beer night (we weren’t […]

In last night’s amazing episode of The Walking Dead, we apparently saw the end of fan-favorite Glenn – one of only a few original cast members still standing. But did Maggie’s husband really buy it? Or is it all a trick? Spoiler’s ahead, people. If you saw last night’s episode of TWD, you’re probably in […]

Oi mate, if Pittsburgh is known as the zombie capital of the world, then London is quickly becoming the zombie comedy club of said world. Cockneys vs. Zombies is another full fledged zombie comedy based in the East End of London. In the vein of Shaun of the Dead, though not as innovative. Not that Shaun was a first, but it definitely was a trend setter.

The one thing that has been missing from all the movies we have discussed thus far this month was Nazi zombies. So here you go, Dead Snow 2 should fill our Nazi zombie quota for the month. To contradict everything I said earlier about comedy in horror, a film like Dead Snow comes along. If you haven't seen the first Dead Snow the premise was quite simple, a group of friends on a ski vacation in Norway discover a box filled with gold that previously belonged to a group of Nazi soldiers buried in the snow on the mountain and they rise from their snowy graves to reclaim their treasure. Dead Snow was an over the top gory fun film that brought back Nazi's back to the zombie sub-genre they have been missing from for 30 years.
