Still in awe of what I just saw. I’ll take a second to let you soak it in too.
We good? Good!
I have to go back to 1977 when I was just 9 years old and experienced Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope for the first time to remember how happy I felt. That pure unadulterated joy. I’m feeling that joy again. Wrapped in it right now like a warm blanket on a cold winter’s night. A wonderfully good feeling.
Everything I’ve seen so far looks brand new, from the Stormtroopers to the X-wings and TIE fighters, and still, it all looks so familiar. And it all feels right. We got a glimpse of Rey swinging around like Tarzan in the jungle of a crashed Star Destroyer to the Falcon banking around it’s debris as if it was flying through an asteroid field. The scale of everything, so big (hands in the air) and beautiful. It all looks familiar, and feels so right. Pure joy.
As beautiful as it was to watch (I’ve watched it like 20+ times already) what struck me the most and what brought me back to that pure unadulterated joy from 1977 were the words spoken by our heroes. It brought everything back to the beginning… full circle.
There are stories about what happened…
It’s true, all of it. The dark side. The Jedi. They’re real.
The Force, It’s calling you. Just let it in.
I plan to watch the trailer at least a million times before December 17th. Got my tickets and bringing my warm blanket with me. How about you?
Star Wars the Force Awakens opens Dec 18th !
